I have always said that Jane Fonda won the Vietnam war singlehandedly. She never carried a rifle for the Vietnamese, Never saw her rank and file leader but she carried her CBR attack straight through the enemy’s front lines, and she brought the vanquished servicemen back home. She killed her share of American Casualties and cheered the missing limbs and sightless eyes. Of course, there were many other casualties on the other side.

It doesn’t help a bit that most of her cherry-red opinions were right. The lights and broad boulevards of Vietnam today compare brilliantly with any other civilized country.
